Lots of years back Harrods used electric vans.
I recall seeing them

Re: Fork Lift Truck purchasing - Help please.
I have a large-ish series wound motor from a FLT,
dunno much about it, was told 24v.
Haven't looked at it for years, bought it for e-bike = much much too big for that.
Would suit E-motorcycle or small E-car.
All I want is the £20 (or was it 30 ) I gave for it.

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather
Put me down for a definate Ed, cheque/cash/bank transfer available on your approval. Quite happy with the price and the fact its 20ah means it will also match my 24v 20ah pack quite nicely if I ever joined them up 8) But as Deker gave the heads up first and as a gentleman myself, I bow to him being...

Re: New battery technology claims 300Wh/kg
Hmm, just done a quicky calc.
6 minute charge at 380v at 100 amps only = 3,800 watts.
The charger must be MASSIVE.
Gives one the feeling that a 235v 13 amp household plug wouldn't do much (In 6 mins)
Now where did I put that mega horsepower single to 3 phase converter

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather
Yes Ed, I may well be interested. Im unfamiliar with this product, so my Qs = 1) Can the pack be split into 3 * 12v or 2 * 18v. 2) I assume the charger is set for 36v. Y or N. and the pack has to be charged as a 36v pack Y/N If I had a battery pack for my C5 it would give me impetus to reassemble th...

Re: Land's End to John o'Groats EV Challenge
I would be delighted to enter this as long as it doesn't clash with the TTXGP races. (in the case of a goods-carrying vehicle, 70kg of ballast to be regarded as equivalent to one person; ballast to be ). See below I think that with lithium batteries it is technically possible to make a vehicle that...

Re: A new vehicle from Sinclair ! The c5 mark 2 ??
The bodywork looks OK, but I wonder what on earth Sinclair were thinking of by giving it tiny 16" wheels and no suspension. The ride will be dreadful, all the more so because it's a recumbent - all the shock loads will go straight up your back, with no leg 'flex' to take out the worst. The wim...

Re: Which SLA charger - slow or fast?
http://www.barden-ukshop.com/sonnenschein-a51230g-1101-p.asp Sadly, at a £131 a shot they're not much better value than Lithium. At least least lithium battereis are lighter. Why are batteries always so insanely expensive? Then you go on to say "I've seen that site, and unless you're rich it d...

Re: Which SLA charger - slow or fast?
Hi badnewswade. Generally slow charge for SLAs is best, however 27 hours is too long if you need your bike next day. The 12 to 16 hours should normally be OK. Bear in mind. Always have your batteries fully charged before using your bike. On my Lynch motor'ed bike I have two 12v * 30ah Sonneschein A5...
