Re: Ampera: David Peilow's 1 month owners review

[quote="Kevin Sharpe"]"After one month of long trips, drag strips and high speed commuting with the ‪#Ampera‬, real world MPG is 101. Amazing." David_Peilow_Ampera.jpeg Now that's interesting: I recognise this graphic! - it's the demo screen that comes with the 7inch iSmart TFT d...

DVLA nightmare - some progress !!

I've just had a welcome letter come through the post: It's the standard letter saying that due to the changes being made to my vehicle, it needs to be inspected. WOOHOO!! :D Looks like the process is moving again, we'll see what the bods at my local office say when they arrange the inspection ( I'd ...

Hi Chris The only way I could get my conversion signed off was to trailer it to my local office for an inspection AFTER I had it MOT'd and insured. They gave me my free tax disc there and then, and they sent the V5 off to Swansea for me. How'd you get it MOT'd if the reg doc still said petrol as the...

Hi Jeremy Thanks for the words of encouragement! I guess I'll be seeing my local DVLA office a lot... just as well they're only 1 mile from my house.... If it'll just stop raining, I might be able to do a bit more on the Supe (still have the high-current wiring to do, and battery warmers) Stil...

DVLA nightmare!

Well, I've just found out some potentially scary info: Yesterday I went to my local DVLA office to chase up the "fuel-type" change on the Supra from petrol to electric, and they eventually told me I'd have to ring a number in DVLA Swansea. According to the lady at DVLA who I phoned just no...

Hi Simon,

I have a copy here (found it on the EV_stuff archive on my work PC)

I no longer have the Siemens system itself (sold it to Robin Lawrie for his Fiat500 conversion - anyone know if he finished it? )

I emailed you but it bounced back....

Exide Maxxima's at silly prices?

Hi everyone, Doing a spot of Googling, I ran across this site: http://88.208.236.137/order_now/batteries/maxxima-ice-blue/ Looks too good to be true, especially at just 50 quid per battery! That'd make a brand new pack for the Supra just 1300 quid... I'm suspicious of this site... no phone numbers, ...

Well, I like auto's ! Actually the Mini wasn't really an auto - it was fixed ratio, so it could go as fast backwards as forwards  As for the Supra, it's not going anywhere until I find the right propshaft... ...somehow I grabbed the wrong one when I collected the autobox. I have made goo...

I've been waiting months for Linear Tech to release this chip to production! If it delivers, it'll be very useful. It has switchable low-current bypass for each cell, so you can use this to gradually nudge the cells into line if they're out-of-balance (which they will be in a long series string, eve...
