Re: EV-network now charges £3
.. the bit that hurt the most was the fact business's got it for free which I just couldnt get my head round :? No they don't. It costs nothing to contribute a charge point to the database as businesses do. It costs £3 to get access to details of others' private charge points as individual members ...

Re: EV-network now charges £3
The introduction of the membership fee has been discussed by EV Network members in the forums since January 2010 and has been effective since January 2011. While the loss of any members is regrettable, £3 is a very modest fee for members to pay (a fraction of the price of BVS membership, and less th...

whilst avoiding giving money to people who have already installed PV for environmental reasons. As a tax payer wouldn't I want to know that the new scheme represented value-for-money by adding new capacity, rather than simply handing more money to those who already had systems? Those who already ha...

Re: 41.3p per kwh sell back
Until recently couldn't you get grants for PV installations, whereas now you don't get grants but get a higher feedin tariff? Why should an installation get both? Also aren't new builds zero-rated for VAT and potentially lower cost even without VAT due to economies of scale, so why shouldn't a new b...

Re: Details for next years UK electric car subsidies announced
Great news! All we need now are some cars that can do 70 miles on a charge, more than 60mph and are significantly cheaper than the Tesla Roadster. Do these cars have to be production vehicles, or could a kit car manufacturer release a turn-key range that fits the bill? Crash safety: • EC whole vehi...

Re: Brighton to London 2010
the normal problem is getting the EV's there and back home again :(, for me unless its trailered to London in the first place its a non starter really due to recharge times, but I have taken part 2 or 3 times now 8) I did the round trip London-Brighton-London in my G-Wiz in 2008. For me that meant ...

Calling Essex Residents
Folks, I was recently asked to be the Essex contact for the BVS. As such I was wondering if there is any interest from local BVS members in holding an informal meeting (potentially in a suitable hostalry) to review whether there is any interest in a more regular Essex gathering in some form. Send me...
