If I was in your position I'd be looking at lithium. Thankfully my batteries are holding out.

Look out for the thread elsewhere on Lifebatt LiFePO4 batteries- looks very promising, but no road tests yet. These could give exceptional range if you could afford to replace all 3 packs.

I plan to be there, but it's too far for the Berlingo so I'll be using the fossil burner.
Tesla- I think my girlfriend SaintMaryUK emailed you.

I intend to cross-post this to ElectriccarsUK.groups.yahoo - any objection?

Did you mean iron? or ion? The only batteries I saw on that page seemed to be lithium-ion batteries. The only thing I could find on the wider internet about lithium-iron (LiFe) batteries said that they were primary cells, i.e. use once, do not recharge. I'm quite happy to be proved wrong- we're all ...

We are in agreement. I too would not want to lease batteries, as I am a low mileage user.

Leasing batteries is not a new idea. The Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner are identical vans, but most Partner Electriques had leased batteries. Notice that you don't see many Partners on ebay. Also, caveat emptor if you do see one for sale. The batteries may not be included in the sale. I think...

Grants available

This is a government scheme to encourage charging facilities. Sounds like just what you need to tip Motorola into action, Robert ;-)

And we said-

Evan Tuer- "there were many more other models than Berlingos made. Anyway, I've heard 10,000-12,000 of their EVs in total." and I replied "From http://www.psa-peugeot-citroen.com/document/publication/history_group1083692907.pdf (page 4) "Year 2000- The group's five-thousandth ele...

Speaking of patents ... I was googling for a motorcycle gadget I saw long ago (~1993) which was a brake light operated by a pendulum switch, completely independant of the bike's systems. It took the form of a model of a biker, wearing a backpack. The backpack was the brake light, which came on when ...

Where to start? Right... Robert- the link you found, http://www.rmsconsult.co.uk/berlingo/charging.htm is a frames page for http://berlingo-e.co.uk/ , a fan site run by Robin Sanderson. This is a very good resource for Berlingo information, including faults and rear seat conversion. The faults infor...
