BVS stand at 2007 Bristol Balloon Fiesta. PLEASE help!

Postby aminorjourney » Mon Jun 18, 2007 8:58 pm

Hi everyone,

Well, the BVS is going to have a large stand at this year's International Balloon Fiesta in Bristol. It runs from August 9th to the 12 and we'll be putting on seven 15 minute shows in the main arena as well as having a 12*12 meter stand area for the society.

It's going to be a big event with over 500,000 people coming through the gates over the four days and so will be a great time to get people plugged in!

If you're willing to help (even if it's just for a day) please let me know. We really need at least 10 BVS members on tap plus really impressive looking vehicles!

There can be camping on site and I can put a limited number of people up at my home as well.

Nikki.

P.S. We set up on August 8th so the more the merrier!

This is a great event. I managed to time some work in Bristol last year to coincide with the balloon fiesta. Probably can't make it this year but recommend that anyone who is a available should volunteer to help at the BVS stand. You'll have a great day out.

Right, I need to know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE the following:

    who can come
Who wants camping spaces for the event (£30 for four whole days!)
    What vehicles are coming

Please let me know ASAP as I need to let the Fiesta people know! :)

What's the paragliding like down there? I've been putting off some of my Bristol work for quite a while but could find time to knock it on the head if there was "me time" too. All the bits I'm driven past look dead flat. :D

Well, the Balloon Fiesta is going to be at Ashton court - which is nice and hilly. Us powerkiters go up there for some serious winds. I think perhaps you need something more though ;)

Nikki.

(I'm sure we could find somewhere though!)

Is there anyone else willing to come down and help? I could certainly put one or two people up here as well....

Bit of a last minute thing but hope to come and say hi on Thursday (not really able to help on the stand due to impatient child and poorly wife but hope you have managed to get enough helpers)

All the best

Tony
