Beegees City Els find new homes

Postby aminorjourney » Thu May 24, 2007 8:38 pm

As some of you may be aware the City Els which were on ebay as a pair have just been split up.

One of them, a white convertible, is on it's way to live with a very nice chap by the name of Karl. (And it'll be coming to visit the City El Crew in Bristol for a once-over)

The Red one, which was the working of the two City Els, is apparently off to Norfolk.

Do we know who ended up with it? I'm curious!

Nikki.

So, the white one is the non-runner? I wonder what's up with it? I'd better put together a list of things to change for the UK spec. conversion. And that'll mean finding the part number for that Hella headlight. I can also print out another copy of the speedo MPH scale.

Marktime veiwed them and seemed to think the chap thought they where really special cos the Bee Gees owned them  and hence the bank roll of notes on the reserve .

Currently I dont know , might it be an idea to drop the chap a question and ask ??

The White one has that old contactor issue. I think it won't go in one direction but apparently other than that is fine. Of course, we'll have to see for ourselves as it is coming to Bristol on the 3rd June to the BVS/BEVOB meet.

Yes!

The white one is hopefully now in the hands of a certain C5 owner who has just joined the forum and the red one is on it's way to live with someone in Norfolk!

Hi !

I'm the proud new owner of the non-running white one .

Here's my wife and daughter greeting the new arrival :

It will need a fair bit of work, items I've noticed (not in any order of importance) ;

Both rear lights
Mirrors missing
Tyres cracked - I intend to replace all three for peace of mind
Damage to front panel
Damage to upper body above rear nearside wheel
Boot full of interesting little bits and pieces that should be fitted to the motor !
I have the "soft top" , one of the press studs is just starting to pull away from the edge of the material.

Plus it needs to be reigsitered and MoT'd, as well as change of headlight and speedo amending.

Given my lack of any electrical/mechanical ability I am really rather nervous at this moment in time , thinking - WHAT HAVE I DONE ?
