While I don't think he's selling new City Els at the moment Andreas of Twike UK is now able to order parts for UK City El owners.
As Andreas is German it's a great way to avoid the language barriers present if you order direct from CityCom and does stop the mistranslations which caused me to order four shocks rather than four springs...

Thats fantastic news .
It should make life a lot easier......I hope they will be keeping some stock in the UK - the waiting times for delivery of parts seems shocking .
Although I am sure everyone is doing their best, I am still waiting for my package from Denmark, which I had hoped would be with me in time for the electrathon - fingers crossed.

I'm working on extracting myself from two 12hr dayshifts that weekend...I'll keep you posted !
The parts I've ordered are ;
L & R tail lamps and screws...not sure if the whole lamp or just the lense for each side will be arriving ! ( I'm pretty sure it's just the lense )
3 tyres
3 inner tubes
Mirrors
battery lid
Springs
Shocks.
Rubber engine mount thingy..
I thought it wise to replace the tyres, shocks and springs even though the originals are not broken/worn out. I'd rather be cautious than sorry, plus it should help get through an MoT..

Some excellent news...and some disappointing news !
The really good news is that all the spare parts have arrived from Denmark ,now I've just got to fit everything...although I might be a bit out of my depth with the wiring side of things .
The really bad news is I cant get the weekend off to go to the electrathon.

Never mind Karl Good to know your City El is soon to be roadworthy:)
What batteries are going in it? I'm off to Southampton tomorrow to pick up some nice Lithium Ions for mine
I do have a bit of a suggestion re the MOT. You could of course always come to Bristol for it if you think finding someone local to you would be an issue.
Wiring shouldn't be too bad. I'd be interested to see the photos of the new contactor though!

I might just take you up on that suggestion of an MoT in Bristol !
Could I be really cheeky and arrange it for a time when yourself or John, or indeed anyone else you can think of, might be available to help with the wiring side of things ?
For the short term I was going to use the batteries that came with it, I still have a few other snags to keep me interested .
I wimped out with the new tyres and got my local motorbike dealer to fit them onto the loose wheels. £25 for all three.
I've hit a snag trying to get the battery tray out so a mechanic acquaintance is coming over to remove the brake pipes. Once the tray is out I can paint it and then fit all the new suspension parts. Then, when its back on its wheels, all the other bits can be fitted.
Slow,but steady, progress.
And only a cut thumb and squashed finger so far

Excellent!
Of course, My City El is off the road again with yet ANOTHER puncture.
It is looking rather resplendent though in it's new yellow roof complete with mirrors that you can adjust from the inside; no more sticking one's arm outside for me!
It's frustrating having the car off the road only four days after getting the wheel fixed but at least I now have two almost complete City Els in the garage. How many City Els can you get in one garage?!
Okay, I admit it. I'm more jovial than usual. I do at least have an excuse:
Can you say "42 V of lithium Iony goodness?"

Top bloke, he managed to get a vital letter to me in less than 24hrs .
Not forgetting a big thank you to Nikki as well; for putting me in contact with Andeas in the first place !
