woooh now you must be pretty chuffed with that! It looks really good I love the completely open top and the roll bar. 8) Hey I'm getting ideas now for a Coupe' with a small boot lid to iot now that would be cool

Would be great to see you make one or tow of the BVS events if you can with it.

One or Tow... is that a Freudian slip or what? ;)

Well done Karl! It's great to see the little Bee Gee El back on the road to complete restoration!

If you do want to do any events do let me know and I am more than happy to lend you my trailer, provided I'm not using it already. Hmmm. I need to get to the habit of hiring a van which can tow and then I can have one el in the back and one on a trailer!

Thanks guys, it is nice to be so near completion with the whole project. Work has come to a brief, planned ,halt due to a family holiday looming.

Once I've sorted the lights it's just a question of getting past the MoT and registration process.

Then I will be bringing it to as many events as I can. :P

At present I am scouring Ebay and the local freebie papers for a trailer.

It's (hopefully) all fixed and ready for its MoT.

Eventually found a suitable MoT test centre that could deal with a 3-wheeler. None at all in Crawley, closest is 10 miles away in Burgess Hill - should be familiar to those London-Brighton pilots !

Booked in for Thursday 30th August.

Fingers crossed

Great news! Now you should be able to get on with the DVLA stuff and get a number plate. Then, it'll be time to test for maximum range! And of course, you can start getting strange looks while parking in the supermarket car parks... or maybe that's just me?

Mate - I really can't wait to get on the road with the beastie.

If I leave the Biggles hat at home will it reduce the number of strange looks ?

Bit frustrated at the moment, the insurance cover note from "Peter Best" still hasn't arrived. Without it, I cannot sort out the registration.
I had to chase it up twice before they looked in their filing cabinet today to discover the cover note & application pack that they said had been posted on the 21st August hadn't actually made it out of their office  .
Nice of them to admit their mistake, but it has cost me another week in delays... :(

To avoid tempting fate,I intend to visit my local DVLA Office in person rather than risk all the paperwork going missing via snail mail.

Is it normal to feel this frustrated , the "so near yet so far" syndrome ?? :?

Up to a point.

That's what I did, since the local office is very close to me anyway.

Yes.

I had a setback with mine when the first MOT tester looked at it, thought about it, then sucked through his teeth and told me he couldn't test a three-wheeler with a single headlight. I've also been frustrated by the various mechanical quirks and failures (leaf springs, front brake, throttle switch).
