The Zebra battery was originally developed by Rolls Royce for use in Submarines. They have been considered as a power source by a leading Supermarket who were testing some Electric Vans for delivery purposes. They were swapable, but I gather had a lot of problems.
They are great for high density power in a small space and being virtually constantly in use. Ideal for the New Berlingo Post Vans that Venturi have developed. But not so good as a daily transport option where they may not get charged for a few days, and could be left days on end unused.
They are self powered in terms of heating and still generate reasonable power usage, but this could not be the case if they rest for days on end.
