12 Volt Battery Replacement Rate

Postby cianof » Thu Mar 11, 2010 1:31 pm

I bought my last 12 volt battery from my van on the 16/06/08. (633 days (1 year, 8 months, 23 days) ago.)

I've noticed the coolant pump running at odd times. So I'm guessing it's possibly time for a new 12 volt battery.

I'm wondering, is this replacement rate is consistant with other Berlingo owners?

Mines is not new. And its been in the van a couple of years. The one in my van that blew its electroniscs is still ok and thats about 4 years old.
So I really dont think age is the issue. Some of the cheaper 12 v batteries fail regularly on normal cars. I prefer to have ones that I can check and top up, rather than the sealed ones.

I'd go with that, there are some quite nasty cheap batteries out there.

I've got a half reasonable one on my one (cost about £55 from memory) and thats done 3yrs now and its just showing signs I think of ageing
